About this time every year, I get excited for the little bit of fun and learning more about the Irish culture. The hockey fandom-universe is no stranger to this as many teams incorporate this important holiday into a promotional scheme.I got the winter NHL catalog, after flipping through it, found a special section promoting the St Patrick's Day clothing line. It used all of the teams and changed all the color schemes to fit the rest of the world wearing green. So, I hope this works out for the NHL and builds up a successful promotion - the league could use some good news for a change.
WBS Penguins of the American Hockey League were pretty good at working this promotion every year. They would have their game worn jerseys with an Irish theme. But the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers are doing a special St. Patrick's Day. Their usual game jerseys have been changed to a Green and Black to fit the day's festivities as they play the Toledo Storm at 7:30pm. Any hockey sweater collectors out there interested in one of these?
