Pro sports merchandising does a pretty job for getting things to the fans that combine two different interests, co-branding as we like to call it in the industry. The NHL released some really pretty cool stuff this year. Some of the clothing at NHL.com can only be worn at around this time, I would suggest to my readers and fans that if you want to celebrate hockey while you celebrate the Irish traditions and remembering a great Irish icon, then look into getting those really cool pint glasses. They can be used more times a year than just March 17th.
Meanwhile, the clothing on NHL.com is making sure that the shamrock and the green is prominently focused around the holiday. What do you think? A team that doesn't necessarily translate to all green look cool? Is it weird to see your team in colors that you aren't used to? I try to keep looking on auction websites that feature special jerseys like the ones that the players wear in AHL's Wilkes Barre/Scranton.

I have a Pens t-shirt in all green and wore it around Vegas last year when they were going for the cup. It was only weird because a) I was wearing it after St. Patricks day and b) because other pens fans kept walking past me whispering "is that a Pen's shirt?" trying to decide if I was a friend or foe.
Hey... who's that model in the photo? She's pretty.
