Penguins Fans Say No To Euro

On the Penguins Official Website, the weekly poll suggests that a represenative chunk of fans visiting the website do not wish the Penguins to play any more games in Europe.

It seems there is a 70% to 30% split, but no reason is given nor feedback offered to suggest as to why the Penguins fans have voted the way they did.

I could speculate as to some possible Penguins fans reasons. A regular season game removes one game from their home games. The difference in time zones suggests difficulty for the fans scheduling to watch. Also, the Penguins struggling adjustments to rink size and travel this year in Sweden may suggest a souring of European games.

That's a strange poll, considering the fact that having teams play games in Europe isn't intended to benefit the fans of that team, it's an investment in overseas marketing. It's like asking people, "do you like paying taxes?"

I think your reasoning is correct. I'd probably vote no as well.
