Well, I guess when there is no NHL hockey season there really doesn't need to be a draft. When the draft positions are determined by the previous season's record, it would be controversial to just randomly pick who gets Sidney Crosby.

There is news regarding Sidney "greatest hype on ice" Crosby. I checked out the Toronto Maple Leafs Message Board and saw that a fan was listening to a show "Leafs Lunch" and the OHL commissioner David Branch. He then speculated, according to the host, that Crosby and his agent was arranging to sign an AHL contract with the Chicago Wolves if the NHL is still in lockdown mode. There were represenatives of the Wolves at the World Junior Championships.

i can already forsee a bidding war between the Red Wings, Rangers and Leafs....salary cap be damned!
