Where Does The Perceived NHL Biases Lie?

The most passionate hockey fans among us believe that they can find the smoking gun when it comes to the NHL plans for marketing direction. Jason Kay believes he can detect several key positions that the critics of the NHL aren't the paranoid conspiracy theorists.
Each nation’s audience is sensitive to favoritism, sometimes looking for reasons to pitch fits and demand equal treatment....The angst is understandable. For better or worse, hockey helps define Canada; its people are bound to be over-protective.

But it cuts both ways, as we’ve witnessed at The Hockey News.
This debate may not get a final answer nor arrive at any correct conclusions anytime soon. But the fate of the league as we all know and love it is at stake with this, so finding a happy balance for both US and Canadian fans can be happy with should be met with diplomacy and the patriotism to a minimum.
