"Disco Dan" Now Full-Time Coach

Today, the Penguins have decided that the interim coach Dan Blysma has exceeded expectations and named him the current head coach of the Pittsburgh franchise. Blysma, who took over for a struggling team, was able to succeed where the previous coach could not - keep the Penguins in Stanley Cup playoff contention.
Bylsma, who retired in 2004 after nine seasons in the NHL as a right wing with Los Angeles and Anaheim, and the team reached an agreement on a multi year contract on Monday night. Terms were not disclosed.
I am happy that the Penguins did not leave the "interim" tag for long on Dan, having a coach going in to the playoffs with an uncertain future of job security, leaves little conflict between him and management. I was hoping that the Penguins would consider a bigger name in the summer, but apparently everybody likes "Disco Dan", a nickname from his playing days.
