Tux Mascot Honored By City and Mayor

When teams create fan friendly images to connect with the public community, it usually works out well. Tux, a large anthropomorphic penguin styled after it's brother Iceberg in Pittsburgh, has shown that the value he has given to the North Eastern Pennsylvania community should be returned back to him via a "key to the city" honor and presented to him by Mayor Leighton.
Since the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins’ inception in 1999, Tux has made numerous appearances throughout northeastern Pennsylvania at schools, hospitals, nursing homes, sponsor venues, and of course, each and every Penguins home game.
Congratulations to Tux who is now a proud honored member of the Wilkes-Barre Scranton community.
