The classic Swedish Elite League team MODO has hired former NHLer Peter Forsberg as an assistant GM. He joins the team underneath fellow Swede and familiar NHL player name Markus Naslund who is the general manager.
It must be really cool for a player to go back home and serve their team in this capacity. I don't know what it may be like for Europeans returning home, but it must be a great treat to the Swedish hockey fans who have supported his career overseas.
Forsberg retired from the Colorado Avalanche in dramatic fashion giving only a few games in the 2010-11 season.
