According to this NHL.com article, it says that Mario Lemieux has been training really hard in the offseason to get in shape for a run at the Cup... the World Cup at least.
Yes, it's true, the all-star laden Canada team is stocked with talent this year. But if and when the NHL season rolls around, it will be something different to see Mario playing with the young adults he once inspired in his earlier days.
Mario trains with former Penguins player Jay Caufield and uses him as a strength and conditioning coach. Mario had a disappointing last season because of a sore hip injury. Rumors were that Mario didn't want to take up a roster spot on the team forcing the slowed development of a new #1 center.
