I got an interesting email from the Maple Leafs today. It announced the plans for the St. Johns Maple Leafs to move a little closer to home base starting next AHL 2005-06 season. No word as to how they're going to call the team after the move.
Of course, the Oilers started the shift of farm teams by deciding that they did not want to house their Toronto Roadrunners in the RICOH center and pay rent. They in stead chose to bring their team to Edmonton for this AHL upcoming season.
More changes in the AHL means that since the Houston Aeros are a Minnesota Wild franchise, they have changed their uniforms yet again to match their NHL counterparts. Also the Aeros have also agreed to develop the Dallas Stars players since the Utah Grizzlies have become a Coyotes farm team.
In the ranks of the ECHL, the Pittsburgh Penguins minor league franchise Wheeling Nailers have unveiled their newest uniforms on their web site. I am quite impressed with their style.
