Jason Spezza of the Ottawa Senators, who is now waiting out the lockout in the American Hockey League, has been on a tear this year. Last night, according to this Yahoo! Sports article, scored point 101 for the year in a 7-4 win against the Philadelphia Phantoms. The Binghamton Senators vaulted in divisional first place with the win.
The last time 100 points were scored in the American Hockey League was in the 2000-01 season with Derek Armstrong of the Hartford Wolfpack (32-69).
Congratulations, Jason. It's good to see that he's been living up to his hype. I remember when he was the most talked about junior playing for the OHL's Windsor Spitfires. He was talked about with the same hype that Sidney Crosby is being talked about today.

100 points, while impressive, will not justify Jason re-learning his bad habits, such as skating with his head down. It took ages for Don Jackson and the late Roger Neilson to break Spezza of that nonsense. I'm worried that whenever the NHL resumes, he'll have his clock cleaned in a nasty open-ice hit.
